In just 25 days, a Hawaii-based couple constructs a light-filled little house.

Taylor and Michaella Mcclendon designed this little house in Hawaii during the pandemic. They created this one-of-a-kind small house in a month, starting from scratch and including a charming reading nook and sitting area, a modern farmhouse kitchenette, and a lofted bedroom. The combination of bright neutrals and natural light creates the appearance of more space.

The open living space and kitchen are prioritized inside, and there are many windows and doors to let in as much natural light as possible. The 13-foot ceiling, together with a neutral color scheme and lighter finishes, contributes to the room’s spacious appearance.
