Honda Aviation introduces a fuel-effective Business jet HondaJet Elite II
After the company debuted the HondaJet Elite II at the National Business Aviation Convention and Exposition (NBAA-BACE) in Orlando, Florida in 2022, Honda Aircraft has added one more airframe to its fleet of light business jets.
The HondaJet Elite II is powered by two GE Honda Aero Engines HF120s mounted in an over-the-wing engine mount (OTWEM) configuration for improved performance on short, incomplete runways. The aircraft is marketed as the most fuel-efficient, fastest, highest, and farthest flying in its class. In order to increase performance and efficiency, the nose, wings, and composite fuselage are also built for Natural Laminar Flow (NLF).
The Elite II, despite its diminutive size, has a greater range of 1,547 nm (1,780 miles, 2,865 km) thanks to its capacity to carry 3,100 lb (1,406 kg) of fuel, up from 2,900 lb (1,315 kg), and the jet’s increased gross weight of 11,100 lb (5,035 kg).
Beginning in 2023, Honda claims that the Elite II will be equipped with a new, custom avionics suite based on the Garmin G3000 integrated flight deck. This suite will include a Stabilized Approach system, which gives the pilot audio and visual prompts for a stable landing approach, Autothrottle, which lessens the pilot’s workload by maintaining the engines’ programmed flight characteristics, and Garmin Emergency Autoland, which enables the aircraft to land itself without human assistance. A new Ground Spoiler is now available, which increases the effectiveness of the brakes by dumping lift during landing to put additional weight on the landing gear.
The Elite II can have either a Black Edition or Corporate Scheme Design livery on the outside. Onyx, a light cool gray theme with mid-tone wood accents, and Steel, a light cool gray theme with high contrast marble accents, are now among the interior hues available.
A nose-to-tail acoustic system, new aisle flooring with hardwood herringbone and plank patterns, LED lighting with a soft indigo night setting, and ground illumination for the main entry door are also included. The pilot chairs have sheepskin covers, while the crew seats even have an extra three inches of legroom.
Hideto Yamasaki, President & CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, stated that the HondaJet Elite II “pushes the limits of its category on all fronts of performance, comfort, and style.” “We are also eager to further the automation of our aircraft by introducing new technology to the market in 2019.”
A new Elite II will cost you US$6.95 million if you’re interested.
